Using Your Insurance for Therapy: What to Know

Using your insurance for therapy shouldn’t be another thing to worry about.

Starting therapy is a big step. Figuring out your benefits shouldn’t make it harder. At Journeys Therapy Center, we want the insurance side to feel simple, clear, and free of surprises, so you can focus on what matters: your well-being.

Insurance plans our clinicians accept:

  • Aetna

  • Baylor Scott & White

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Cigna/Evernorth

  • Curative

  • Medicare

  • UnitedHealthcare

Which plans each clinician accepts can vary, and fees may vary depending on your insurance provider.

Our Insurance & Fees page lists the details for each therapist.

Not sure what your plan covers? We’ll check for you.

Benefits can be confusing: copays, deductibles, session limits. Our benefits verification is free. We’ll look into your coverage and explain it in plain language before your first session, so you know what to expect.

If you’d rather go out-of-network or don’t use insurance

Using insurance isn’t the only option. We also offer:

  • Superbills you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement

  • HSA and FSA cards, which we accept

  • Sliding-scale or reduced fees, available on request

  • A Good Faith Estimate of your costs if you don’t have insurance or choose not to use it
