Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor (LPC-S)

Monique Van Belois, M.S., LPC-S, serves as a Clinical Supervisor at Journeys Therapy Center, where she provides guidance and direct supervision to LPC Associates as they complete hours toward independent licensure. As a supervisor, Monique helps associates strengthen their clinical judgment, case conceptualization, diagnostic skills, documentation, ethical decision-making, and intentional use of theory. She values supervision that is collaborative, practical, and responsive to each clinician’s individual strengths and professional goals.

Experience

Monique brings experience across inpatient, PHP/IOP, and outpatient settings, as well as clinical leadership in the private practice setting. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing complex trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. Her background also includes supporting veterans, families, and at-risk youth.

Her clinical training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, and equine-assisted counseling. Across these approaches, Monique emphasizes authentic therapeutic relationships and creating an environment in which clients and developing clinicians feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Education

Monique earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of North Texas.
